What payment options do you offer?

You have the choice of: 1) paying by check or money order via the mail; or 2) paying by cash, check, credit card or money order in person at our office locations. We ask that you do not pay our Delivery Representative directly to ensure his safety and security.

What charges will be included on my bill?

The first invoice you will receive includes the cost of bottled water delivered to you as well as any applicable purchase or rental fees for your dispenser and 5 gallon bottle deposit charges. We charge a modest deposit on our 5 gallon water bottles since they are returnable. Of course, you will receive a credit for each empty bottle returned to Menehune Water that you originally paid a deposit on. Subsequent invoices will cover the charges for the bottled water provided to you during the prior month plus any dispenser rental charges and bottle deposits in excess of your returns.

How frequently will you bill me?

You will be billed each month typically in the first or second week. As a result, you will receive 12 statements during the year. Payments are due upon receipt of your monthly statement.

How will I be notified of my delivery time?

Your Delivery Representative will provide you with a calendar (click link to master calendar) showing your scheduled delivery days for the year. Deliveries will occur every 10 business days. If necessary, you may contact Menehune Water’s Customer Representative the day of your scheduled delivery to determine the approximate time of day that our Delivery Representative will arrive.

Do I need to have someone at my home or office to accept the delivery?

If you are a business customer, we prefer that you have someone available to receive and sign for your delivery. Your staff person will be asked to sign a delivery ticket to authorize receipt of the water. For residential customers, it is not absolutely essential that someone be at home to accept the delivery. In addition, your Delivery Representative will prearrange with you a specific location where your new and empty bottles are to be left.

Can I reschedule this delivery day if necessary?

Should you wish to skip one or more delivery dates, please contact Menehune Water’s Customer Service Representative by phone or email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your scheduled delivery. Since all of our Delivery Representatives have predetermined and regularly scheduled routes, we have limited ability to move your actual day of delivery.

Can I change the quantity of bottles delivered if necessary?

Yes. Simply advise Menehune Water’s Customer Service Representative by phone or email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your scheduled delivery.

What will happen with my empty bottles?

We ask that you leave your empty 5 gallon bottles at a specific location on your property prearranged with your Delivery Representative. Based on the quantity of bottles returned and deposit monies previously charged to you, your account will be credited for the appropriate deposit fees. Your new bottles will be delivered to this same location and new deposit fees applied to your account.

How do you ensure the bottles are properly cleaned before refilling?

Menehune Water reuses and recycles its 5 gallon bottles both to protect Hawaii’s pristine environment and to lessen waste. In order to ensure that our bottles are properly sanitized for your protection, we thoroughly clean each bottle using a multi-step process: 1) a chemical contamination detector; 2) a leak detector to check for damaged bottles; 3) a pre-rinse station to remove excess dust and dirt from the outside of the bottles; 4) a wash station that has a soap and sanitizing solution; and 5) a rinse and final sanitization prior to filling and capping. All pre-rinse, wash, rinse and sanitizing is done by high-pressure spray jets to ensure a thorough cleaning.

How do I keep my water dispenser clean?

You have two options:

1) maintain the machine yourself on an as-needed basis by doing the following:

- OR -

2) contact Menehune Water’s Customer Service Representative and request that we clean your equipment; for this service, there will be a fee of $45 per cleaning which covers the cost of transportation to and from our facility as well as the actual cleaning.

If my dispenser malfunctions, who should I contact?

We highly recommend that you contact Menehune Water’s Customer Service Representative by phone or email as your first step. In many cases, we are able to diagnose the problem and advise you how to fix the unit over the phone. When this is not possible, we will schedule our Delivery Representative to either repair your dispenser at your location or pick it up for repair at our facility.

What makes Menehune Water different from other bottled water brands?

Menehune Water is special for two reasons: 1) our unique Hawaii source; and 2) the exceptional care we take in bottling and packaging our products. Our water begins as abundant rainfall within an isolated, environmentally-pristine virgin rain forest. This exceptional water naturally filters thru thousands of feet of lava rock and forms an underground aquifer which becomes our source. Menehune taps into this natural source and uses an eight-step filtration and purification process to provide you with fresh, natural-tasting water from Hawaii. This process includes Reverse Osmosis.

What is reverse osmosis and what are its benefits?

Reverse Osmosis is a process used to treat and purify water. Within this process, water is forced thru a semi-permeable membrane. Impurities which are too large to pass thru the membrane are left behind and flushed away resulting in clean water passing thru the system. Reverse Osmosis is beneficial in that it removes dissolved solids, salts, organic chemicals, other impurities and minerals that cause hardness.

Are beneficial substances removed during Menehune Water’s filtration and purification process?

Menehune Water’s process removes substances commonly termed Total Dissolved Solids. These include bicarbonates, calcium, carbonates, chlorides, iron, magnesium, manganese, nitrates, phosphates, potassium and sodium. Although our bodies benefit from a few of these materials like calcium, their minimal levels in the majority of bottled waters have no positive health impact. With this in mind, Menehune Water removes these substances to provide you with an ultra-pure water.

Does Menehune offer different types of bottled water?

Menehune currently offers both Purified Water and Distilled Water. Menehune also plans to introduce a Spring Water in the near future.

What are the differences between these types of waters?

The US Food and Drug Administration has established a bottled water “Standard of Identity” which defines the different types of bottled water based on each product’s specific characteristics.

Purified Water – Defined as water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or other suitable processes while meeting the definition of purified water in the United States Pharmacopoeia. Another suitable product name for bottled water if it is by produced by distillation is "Distilled Water".

Spring Water – Defined as bottled water derived from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. Spring water must be collected only at the spring or through a borehole tapping the underground formation feeding the spring.
